Spirit

and Still

that which I thought I was
I am
unbecoming
my thoughts exactly
I am
unbecoming
but this is cause for
celebration
because this is not destruction
there is order promised by chaos
and that which I
understand my Self to be
I will be
therefore I am
still becoming

Born in Sin

a dual nature of man
an indivisible duality
not realizing
awakening
then accepting
the GodInMe
still missing the mark
living outside of Me

What a Mirror we Behold

if I choose to not be little
than you can not belittle
one who knows himself not to be belittled
because he knows not how to be little
though he who belittles
indeed will be little
how’s that for your thoughts and speech which belittle

What A Sight

March 9, 2022 by Russell Wardlow Leave a Comment

appeal is such a task
a veil is but a mask
and as paint peels
it reveals
small glimpses
of first beauty
built upon
but now
smothered beneath,
unknown,
seldom appreciated
yet
it allures me so
getting to it
is a hardship I must employ
this chipping away at old paint
then sanding
smoothing splintered wood
may embolden a new pride
and I desire new polishing
but all that was,
must be done away with
to arrive back on foundation
renovating this home of mine
alas,
beauty takes time
and once it is revealed…
beauty is mine!

I am the ruler of worlds
to which this body belongs
for the world is just an idea
and I have many

where life is ruled,
demands I leave both behind

A Lot Written to Still Never Know

March 7, 2022 by Russell Wardlow Leave a Comment

with all that I am coming to know
there’s much to understand
and that which I wrote
you’d not understand
for language can only grasp but so much
putting frame to picture
as the picture must be experienced
through sound,
our perceptions unique
a fingerprinted journey
words would tirelessly fail to depict
just as feeling is felt
explaining can only intrigue
as much as derail
grabbing at air becomes demoralizing
if you catch my drift
