Entries of a Madman

January 17, 2022 by Russell Wardlow Leave a Comment

there is a war going on
you can’t see it though
although it’s truth
is projected upon the world
it’s of two kingdoms
one, vying for its own ends
the other, unification
an impersonal supremacy,
continuity
a prodigal path back to absoluteness
truth
they battle in an electromagnetic field of impermanence
clashing by the second
I’ve only become so aware recently
before, vague disturbances I couldn’t reconcile
nothing exists without a label…
or so is thought
turmoil shown in the soil
amidst the ripples and shocks of impulses,
commanding instincts
a field most never trek beyond
unaware of any other locations,
to call home
if you look closely
maybe you’ll perceive
of the aftershocks
but mostly, your senses will guide you not
reasoning can only determine
what it can perceive of
and if you know not of the two kingdoms
then I fear
you’ll reason me a madman
and so, I am

All in Accordance

January 17, 2022 by Russell Wardlow Leave a Comment

like the sap
which courses through and vitalizes
the roots, limbs height
and reach of the tree

so to my blood
calls to, and animates the will
and power to manifest
which lies dormant in me

and as the planets and stars
work in harmonic tandem
so to my organs and members
fore no order, nor life, is random

unity, the cause, and condition
for life to continue
regardless of recognition
in the traditions of existence

and as we look for solutions
for revolutions, for evolution
we look no further than life
beyond veil of mundane truisms

into its natural systems
a universal mirror
of organ or organically organized
forms of undaunted activism

God, Nature, Man
a symbiotic intention
precognition predating religion
knowing, as One, our soul’s are the solar system

there’s no season, without reason
and there’s no reason being
human beings can’t reason being
more than words of no meaning

I Know

January 17, 2022 by Russell Wardlow Leave a Comment

I know

I…
I know
I know it may seem
if your lookers are keen

like self-sabotage
yet, I tell you
“behold!
the great mirage!”

isn’t the being
not of one’s self
indeed
self-sabotage?!

or is a near goal
to and fro
where my sense of self
should come and go?

is giving up
who and what
I believe I must
fore tryst of trust

betraying insight
sleighing identity
saying to my soul,
“hush”

forfeiting its call
to my heart
of what is
truth right and just

for the immediacy of
materiality and mundaneness
appraising a value of lies
as my soul cries

for its being, and truth being
compromised
for grandeur of the eyes,
not self-sabotage?

I want freedom
I want success
I want peace
I want my sons

but at what cost
to self
must I submit
to the left

when the right
transcends
perceiving not
this body of theft

if I’m to arrive
at the beneficent west
I should be true to self
giving into its quest

and I know
I know already
on the outside
what it appears to be

many illusions of titles
suffered the injury
stealing truth’s dignity
believing sabotage, of mysteries

in the quest of liberty
serenity, humility
righteousness, reciprocity
and the call for justice, truth, Divinity

Speaking of Serenity

January 17, 2022 by Russell Wardlow Leave a Comment

what physical harmony is there
better than woman’s synchronicity
an instrument designed specifically
chemically, biologically, spiritually

for the blues of all histories
and the clues to all mysteries
if Man is limited
Woman is infinity

what carries forth masculinity
if not, femininity?
if Hue man is rhythmic entity
Woman is order, orchestra, symphony

if Man is sickness
then Woman is remedy
truth is a fluid identity
literally, I wasn’t just speaking physically

I was speaking symmetry
I was meaning synergy
I was gleaning both absolute and relativity
summoning a lyrical memory of a primeval all-encompassing energy

I wasn’t just speaking affinity
nor procreative activity
nor the entanglement of extremities
just to name and claim industry

because no woman is based solely on fertility
gyrations and spewed obscenities
nor is any man’s foundation based on manipulating fragility
overindulging vitality into virility

yes, in retrospect
maybe this was a call for civility in gender proclivities
and a balanced sensitivity
because I’ve spent enough time around unbalanced tendencies
realizing the importance of harmonic union of two world’s-
a bound and bonded kinship, an embodied universal serenity

It Ain’t a Thing

January 17, 2022 by Russell Wardlow Leave a Comment

coming to grips
I’ve had to let go
of things I gripped
which really, gripped me

false notions of warmth, grabbing what isn’t mine
and leaving what is
clutch of deception, has stolen my mind
illusions of bliss

fond of the idea of love
but I have love
it is emotion which blinds me
like spoils, I covet too many

simplicity, modesty?
word’s which once offended
but I see detachment’s wisdom
deep where truth is hidden

but truth is
truth truly isn’t
hidden
we’re just lacking vision

the loss is in extremes
the compass, within its seams
but nothing is as it seems
delusional attachments intervene

my heart has four chambers
not to one solely it clings
yes, it understands proportions
and the balances it beams

what is mine,
is me
what I am
is nothing

what I have,
is nothing
where I am
is everywhere

where that is,
is nowhere
where I go
is my choice

but I’ll leave
all things
and keep with me
no thing

A King, has Returned

January 9, 2022 by Russell Wardlow Leave a Comment

do not the poles of the earth
bring about the equator
just as the poles of the body
bring about equilibrium?

and has not my thyroid
and adrenal glands
brought about harmony
to the biology of my being

acting as northern and southern poles
representing both brain and sex
and their interdependence
like Husband and Wife?

and if so,
has not my fertile mind
and the consciousness it emits
become that of a Father to me?

and the vitality of its seed
going forth into the fertile womb
of my all-consuming heart
bringing the will of me, into being, like my Mother?

well, Mother
I crave your nurturing
fore I know it is you
who knows all my worries and triumphs

and I can not tell you
that which you have not already known
balancing my will with humility, a craft
steadying me from the force of my Father

there are things
I wish to speak solely to you
knowing you will understand
but I ask for your steadiness

even as you take on the gravity
of my weighty emotions
and the mighty fetters
of my thoughts

because I will not
offer you what you know not
but the reality of me knowing
my Father, as much as you-

may cause you to shudder
in your waters
creating ripples
from disturbances I now recognize

like a child, witnessing abuse
his mind was shielding him from
forfeiting memory for preservation
now harkening back onto what was hidden

you’ve protected me long enough
Mother, the world demands I know it
and I have, but now
Father, summons my knowing be directed

and I cry for the seeds of my Father
fallen on barren ground
Mother, your vitality has waned
and you do not produce like once before

I am in a state of chaos, fore I have lost my balance
feeling cold and naked from distance of love
the land has been trampled
by conquests of the senses

there is not enough field
for the plow
and there is too much desire
for the yield

the eyes have become insatiable
and the hands numb
for no one knows home
nor what they have in their grasp

extremes have shaken foundations
the poles are lived on
the highs and lows are too much
growth has underdeveloped

no one knows who they are
they have lost their names,
disregarded their ancestors
bury traditions and shun history with malcontent

malice has entered the palace
and the youth roam
until their energy drains
lost to idleness and idolatry

where are you Mother?!
I know you see this
you’ve been silent for too long!
but what words have you?!

soon as uttered
you are attacked swiftly
no one cares of your wisdoms
fore they can’t possess you

like the sword which slashes down
the swordsman, O Mother!
I’ve felt invisible like you
but ashamed of my existence

for what I see, makes me
want to cover myself
my guilt runs over
like cups of drunkards

because I have played a part
no belly’s know their fill
nor mind, it’s heart
the true just and righteous life, is orphaned

for where is the unity
of husband and wife
of father and mother
of king and queen

where is the bond
of love consummated
kids created
and kingdoms combined

the lands revel in their division
and the throne has no heir
for profit speaks its prophecy
and the poor no leader

the lineage of their ruler
is crowned in red
and the descendants of truth
have been muddied into obscurity

words are hollow shepherds
symbols are debauched
God is mocked
and life is found in the wandering flocks

who do I trust at this time
but you,
though no one listens to their mothers
they have abandoned their kids

fore no parent recognizes their offspring
let alone themselves
but I call to you,
O’ Mother, come home!

fore I have heeded and discerned
contemplated the legacy of my Father
disciplining disruptions I suffer
and it was not solely logic hence I learned

experience sent me into the wild
and I have come back with a message
my body, and the truth it bears
I am ready Mother, groom me for the throne

for the King, has returned
