It’s More than Sex

May 3, 2022 by Russell Wardlow Leave a Comment

noticing
the whole world
has been posturing
in a purposeful pose
and position of sex
constant procreation
deeply contemplative
instinctive
and projects
never losing poise
position
focus
nor balance
staying in a yogic state
the yoke of life…

reflecting,
processing…

I’d like to have meditative sex
sex where one’s imagination
is not wasted on the body
being its primary focus
but the storehouse united with another’s
a world created from two visions
aligned as one
and the bodies
yield and express the magnetic surges
of divine power
as we have created a world
in our image
from our own minds
and hearts

Oh Let Me Count the Ways

May 3, 2022 by Russell Wardlow Leave a Comment

the sun houses
the male principle
the moon houses
the female’s

the sun projects
upon the moon
and the earth
is conceived

the sun becomes
a father
and the moon
a mother
and earth
the loved child

the sun gives strength and purpose
to the earth
and the moon
nurtures and nourishes
the earth
upon its growth and development

and upon the earth’s journey
what is always remembered
and accompanying each day
is the love of the sun
and the moon

the lessons of
the father and mother
as the child reflects their legacy
guides the earth

and as above
so below
the earth manifests
repeating those lessons

and All, Is
and that which Is
eternally becomes
and never will not Be

the majestic
mystical
mythical
and miraculous ways of love
and its lessons in nature
all around us

the earth is just creation
the sun and moon
are but celestial expressions
of the creator’s creative powers
both masculine and feminine principles
balance, harmony
and the earth
a metaphor of being-ness
the manifestation of order

and creation
is just a process of
consciousness being conscious of consciousness
the divine powers of life
coming forth by day
and by night

and the cycle of reciprocity
or karma
symbolized by
life, death, and resurrection
expressed in nature’s kingdoms
mineral, plant, animal, and human
embodied in our bodies
its organs
and metaphorized in each blink

and so Eve could have said
come to me my Adam
let’s realize ourselves
and conceive our heart’s desire

or the sun to the moon
saying alas
for in your womb
you held my powers
and nurtured my seed
and our sacred union
spawn us earth
behold our divine powers of oneness!

but that’s the thing about metaphors
there’s many ways to tell,
and read
the story of life
once you realize it
you see that it’s book
is paperless
and everywhere!

oh, let me count the ways

The Crux of Knowing and Not Knowing What to Do- (we’ll eat, be merry, and just Be, in the dark)

May 3, 2022 by Russell Wardlow Leave a Comment

if we lose our minds
in this metaphor
a home
is my clothes
and going outside
into nature
is coming out
of my clothes
standing naked
in front of mirror
and if you took off
your clothes
it would be but
the start of
observation
and a map
of cosmological exploration
encased in the
allegory
of our body
your body
or tree,
if you’d prefer.

but if we gain
back our mind
bequeathing its submission
to heart’s intelligence
we’ll realize
strangely
uncomfortably
shamefully even
or, as voyeur’s
we’ve both been
standing
facing one other
un-wholed
separate
and
birthday suited.
eating apples like cake

are we just going to stand here
and just be?
or
should we go back inside?

because I suddenly feel cold
bored
and only one thing is on my mind
because I can’t see beyond my eyes
…
but bring some more apples
and I’ll turn off the lights!

Statements

May 3, 2022 by Russell Wardlow Leave a Comment

so many titles
for so many things said
just so separation
creates identity

now ain’t that a fact,
of life?

but it’s just thoughts
poems
statements

identifiable
in that it is
distinguishable
but not identification
in that it’s essence
is known

truly
I don’t even remember
all these damn titles
and over
trying to synchronize them all

the sense
made nonsensically
can be rationalized
within temporality

Self Known

it’s a crazy experience
when you realize
just who you are
WayOfLife…
say it twice…
said of twice
