Oh Let Me Count the Ways

May 3, 2022 by Russell Wardlow Leave a Comment

the sun houses
the male principle
the moon houses
the female’s

the sun projects
upon the moon
and the earth
is conceived

the sun becomes
a father
and the moon
a mother
and earth
the loved child

the sun gives strength and purpose
to the earth
and the moon
nurtures and nourishes
the earth
upon its growth and development

and upon the earth’s journey
what is always remembered
and accompanying each day
is the love of the sun
and the moon

the lessons of
the father and mother
as the child reflects their legacy
guides the earth

and as above
so below
the earth manifests
repeating those lessons

and All, Is
and that which Is
eternally becomes
and never will not Be

the majestic
mystical
mythical
and miraculous ways of love
and its lessons in nature
all around us

the earth is just creation
the sun and moon
are but celestial expressions
of the creator’s creative powers
both masculine and feminine principles
balance, harmony
and the earth
a metaphor of being-ness
the manifestation of order

and creation
is just a process of
consciousness being conscious of consciousness
the divine powers of life
coming forth by day
and by night

and the cycle of reciprocity
or karma
symbolized by
life, death, and resurrection
expressed in nature’s kingdoms
mineral, plant, animal, and human
embodied in our bodies
its organs
and metaphorized in each blink

and so Eve could have said
come to me my Adam
let’s realize ourselves
and conceive our heart’s desire

or the sun to the moon
saying alas
for in your womb
you held my powers
and nurtured my seed
and our sacred union
spawn us earth
behold our divine powers of oneness!

but that’s the thing about metaphors
there’s many ways to tell,
and read
the story of life
once you realize it
you see that it’s book
is paperless
and everywhere!

oh, let me count the ways
