Geysers

April 20, 2022 by Russell Wardlow Leave a Comment

suppress your fire until the place
where it can be fully expressed,
is presented.

and this is where preparation meets
opportunity, consumed by the
moment, now succumb to
inspiration and embrace
being possessed by the
engulfing inner flames of
passion!

and this is when who you are
arises, for all to witness,
and as you reap from feelings
honed, they experience the awe of
control, focus realization
and resilience.

right now is about the right time
and it’s high time what’s been
held beneath, breaches the skyline,
and this is what
you call the act of freedom-
the allure and desire of All!

most will watch, few will experience
now feast thy eyes, for I will
be a geyser for all to see
once I Am set free.

Words of Affirmation

April 11, 2022 by Russell Wardlow Leave a Comment

though affirmation
can only be
the plaything
of one’s ego
when it is the ego
needing to affirm
its memory of
and connection to
the Divine-
its mother
which needs no
affirmation of her Self
from a child
but nevertheless
it is quite powerful
an experience
so I can understand
the tantrums thrown
when such a gift
goes un-given
because afterall
power,
is the true aim
of the ego
and it can only submit
to one greater than
its own
but memory
can be tricky
when distraction
has become subterfuge
for it is true that
love languages
and the love of language
are directions spawn
of this world
for power
can be the only hope
for the worldly
all said…
it still feels so Good,
to be affirmed!

Intrinsics

April 11, 2022 by Russell Wardlow Leave a Comment

you can not give
me anything
that I do not
already have, myself
this makes your
love, a true gift
…
a gift of life
since there is
nothing,
you can give, me

Tempor-alities

April 11, 2022 by Russell Wardlow Leave a Comment

and I watched you
evolve overnight
from my grandest desire
to my greatest temptation
offering me exactly
in your new form
of temptation
than when I first
desired you so
and who will I be
at this moment
when my growth
demands more of me
than temptation
could ever offer

A Dad in ’09 and ’12, a Father in ’20, Still Becoming a Man

April 11, 2022 by Russell Wardlow Leave a Comment

I was a dad
before I was a man
I’ve been a man
for less years than a father
so I’m growing with my kids

teaching what I never knew
all those years as I grew
more physical than anything else
and whoever I believed I was being
was really an unknown cry for help

and hurt people hurt…

well you can determine that for yourself
discipline shouldn’t conjure belts
that manifest welts
I was but a foster child
having no real identity, nor place
that aided and empathized with how I felt
so moments came and went
their lessons lost and forgotten
on high old dusty shelves
in the many homes I’ve entered
all which I left behind
all which left me behind
hindered injured dismembered
either me, myself, and my peace of mind

Prodigal Apology

April 11, 2022 by Russell Wardlow Leave a Comment

Dear Father
I’m sorry
for you know my heart
where the full extent of this is written
and known in the land that loves silence
from which it came
born from my Mother
where I will one day return
I commune with you there
yet seldom bring you back with me when I leave
and this is why I grieve
