What A Sight

March 9, 2022 by Russell Wardlow Leave a Comment

appeal is such a task
a veil is but a mask
and as paint peels
it reveals
small glimpses
of first beauty
built upon
but now
smothered beneath,
unknown,
seldom appreciated
yet
it allures me so
getting to it
is a hardship I must employ
this chipping away at old paint
then sanding
smoothing splintered wood
may embolden a new pride
and I desire new polishing
but all that was,
must be done away with
to arrive back on foundation
renovating this home of mine
alas,
beauty takes time
and once it is revealed…
beauty is mine!

Idealism. Divine Kingship. Worldviews.

I am the ruler of worlds
to which this body belongs
for the world is just an idea
and I have many
but the true kingdom-
where life is ruled,
demands I leave both behind

A Lot Written to Still Never Know

March 7, 2022 by Russell Wardlow Leave a Comment

with all that I am coming to know
there’s much to understand
and that which I wrote
you’d not understand
for language can only grasp but so much
putting frame to picture
as the picture must be experienced
through sound,
our perceptions unique
a fingerprinted journey
words would tirelessly fail to depict
just as feeling is felt
explaining can only intrigue
as much as derail
grabbing at air becomes demoralizing
if you catch my drift

Mundane Reflections, Still Learning

March 6, 2022 by Russell Wardlow Leave a Comment

a black man walks into a stall in prison to urinate, he closes his eyes and detaches as much as he can without error and misfortune, he opens his eyes upon completion, and two white men are on either side of him doing the same thing, his reaction imperceivable, but it was a reaction nevertheless…what is the error of his consciousness?
in this moment he has lost sight of his self because he has lost sight of them, why did he see color and not God?
this story is me…for life is a constant unfolding of reclaiming one’s liberation
a lesson in all but the best lessons
are the lessons of, and seen in self

Wary of WayOfLife Look-alikes

March 5, 2022 by Russell Wardlow Leave a Comment

Frantz Fanon posed a question, am I all I say I am, am I all I ought to be
which is cycled through black conscious communities and their spiritual circles upon their path for enlightenment re-identification and liberation, as a creed of sorts that asks those two vital questions and demands indiscriminate honesty in order to locate oneself and reorient if their way has been lost or veered from

if what is believed in, is because what can’t be believed in…then it’s no real belief, and just as powerless as the potential, and latent state of believing, which is, “belief”

if what is created is because what can’t be created, it is no creation, it is just craftiness

if what is done is because what can’t be done, then it is not transcendence, no matter how it appears and what is said
the reason and the energy are not separate and therefore if they differ or split, then the initial cause is disrupted and only filled in with the illusion of that which was sought
the mind will make room for and allow this perpetual deceit with its house full of rationalizations

transcendence is not just a function which goes beyond, it is an essence, a constant unfolding…
as well as an energy, knowing, and belief which propels the transcendence
otherwise transcendence is just a title, to which titles and labels I have no interest for nor in…

I do not desire the names of things more than the experience of them, the experience will reveal their names

as WayOfLife, I am my own and need not capitulate to that of other’s need for a converted means of identification and understanding that only dilutes what was once potent and pure yet still has the appearing luster of grand titles

WayOfLife is transcendence, it doesn’t need the appearance nor affirming title/label of which, it is the title and label
it embodies the name and answers the calling unflinchingly

I am what I do
but I am more than yet I have done
so I do not allow the moments that they define
to be the moments I define
in my transcendence, I redefine
because transcendence is as deep as roots
and what surfaces therein lies the proof

so I stay wary of wayoflife-look-alikes
perception is illusive
and truth, allusive

WAYOFLIFE

March 4, 2022 by Russell Wardlow Leave a Comment

IS ONE WORD,
IT IS IMPROPER ENGLISH AND GRAMMAR
CULTURALLY AND LINGUISTICALLY SUBVERSIVE
IT IS ALL CAPS AND RADICAL
IT IS AN ESSENCE-
AN ENTANGLEMENT OF DUALITIES:
SACRED AND SECULAR
REVELATION AND EXPRESSION
PROPHESY AND PROCLAMATION
NATURAL AND IMPROVISATIONAL
NURTURING AND AGGRESSIVE
INSTINCTUAL AND INSIGHTFUL
IMPULSIVE AND INTUITIVE
HIGH AND LOW
FAILURE AND SUCCESS
PROCESS AND PROGRESS
IT IS THE PENDULUM OF LIVED LIFE
THE BALANCE, MAAT
THE KARMA-RECIPROCITY
TENSION-RELEASE
CONTRACTION-DILATION
INPUT-OUTPUT!
IT IS NOT,
NOR CAN EVER BE DIVIDED AND DISTINGUISHED SEPARATELY
IT IS BOTH COMPLEMENTARY AND OPPOSING PARTS
IT IS WHOLENESS,
ONENESS,
IT IS.
I AM.
