could you imagine
if you took being duplicitous or ambiguous
to the extreme of imagination
it’d be like
not only being of two minds
but literally having two minds
and those minds still control what and how you see and perceive things
here’s the catch
you’d still only have two eyes
and each eye corresponds with the mind it stems from
how would you know view the world
discern anything
or ever make a choice
now let’s go one extra extreme mile
what if each eye and its coordinating mind
corresponding with certain and opposing cultures, colors, genders, or or
ohhh ohhh, or opposing historical figures
or warring ideals and principles?
could you imagine one eye seeing like Trump and the other like Obama?
Or maybe a Far-Right Republican and a Far-Left Democrat?
maybe both on opposing sides of abortion laws
integration and segregation?!
maybe something as trivial as directions
what of Christian and Muslims
religion and science
black and white life?
how confused and cross-eyed would you be?
you’d be in a constant state of war of some ideal, method, belief, perception
just how it is right now
only all encompassed and embodied into one human body
and everyone outside of them would observe that person as upside down, backwards, crazy, hypocritical, and lost
is this how people look at our country?
when you think about it, division is so sophomoric, moronic, and ridiculous
because in every way, we are all interdependent
said simply, we need each other
and without others, who would what we think we are be?
no one wants to be the same,
yet we war to be different in order to make everyone believe and feel the same
conquering each others ability to differentiate ourselves
while qualifying worth to those differences
instead of personal pride with allowance of other’s differentiating degrees of self
we are the one image and many expressions of God
ridiculously expressing ourselves as separate
those separate expressions separating us because of our image
an image we create as opposites
upholding it above all others
imagine God fighting God’s self-ridiculous
humanity evolves over its differences
not similarities
we grow apart
not together
what a thing we do with the life we’ve been given
we work harder against each other
not smarter with each other
the ridiculousness of it all
we are just ridiculous
