for I am the forgotten mountain
America stands on
enjoying it’s mighty view
so I say to you
I am not American
America rather imprison kill and oppress me
I am not African
Africa doesn’t recognize me
I’ve been gone too long to recognize her
I am not black
I am more than a color
more than a color western culture identifies more nefariously
and I can not be a human being
when my being has been a tool
that works for dominance and hierarchy
fixing the engine for social, cultural, economic exploitation
and gene augmentation
a presence treated like a nail
subjugated by the hammer
so what am I?
who am I?
why should I have to ask,
a question most would never have to encounter
…talk about trauma
I am lost
I am the forgotten
